Vancouver, BC – April 24, 2026 – The British Columbia Premier League (BCPL) today announced a significant expansion to its competition calendar through a new strategic partnership with the Fraser Valley Soccer League (FVSL).
Through the partnership, FVSL will host a new competition tier specifically for BCPL License Holders, operating during its traditional Fall/Winter season.
The initiative establishes a year-round high-performance environment for BCPL teams, strengthening the player development pathway and expanding access to elite competition across the province.
“We’re incredibly excited to partner with the Fraser Valley Soccer League to build something that truly strengthens the player pathway in British Columbia,” said Mark Rogers, Managing Director, British Columbia Premier League. “This collaboration allows us to create a year-round, high-performance environment for our clubs and athletes, while maintaining the standards and identity of the BCPL. FVSL brings strong operational capability and a deep connection to the game in this region, and together we’re creating more meaningful opportunities for BC players to develop, compete, and progress to even bigger stages.”
The BCPL’s Spring/Summer season will continue to run from April through July and will be operated independent from the FVSL. The new BCPL Fall/Winter season, which will run from September through March, will operate under the FVSL umbrella, though BCPL will retain sole authority over the competition model, the establishment of match-day standards for this tier of play, as well as technical direction and club licensing criteria, ensuring alignment with the league’s established high-performance standards. BCPL license holders in good standing from both the men’s and women’s divisions can compete in the Fall/Winter season.
The BCPL competition in the Fall/Winter season will function as a distinct tier, with no promotion or relegation to other FVSL-administered leagues.
“The FVSL is excited to be part of this new partnership with BCPL. This is a terrific opportunity to offer our members a true development pathway,” said Thomas Mills, Executive Director, Fraser Valley Soccer League.
